Setting up the Newsgroups

The newsgroups can be found on the public newsgroups (news.zoneorchestrator.com).

ZoneOrchestrator requires an account for its use. Accounts are only given to those with Member Plus status on the Zone.

Subscribing to the ZoneOrchestrator Community Newsgroups

To view the forums, right-click on the appropriate NG (news.zoneorchestrator.com), and click on "newsgroups".

Highlight the desired forum, and then click on 'Subscribe'. Click OK when done.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up the ZoneOrchestrator Community Newsgroups.

Newsgroup Guidelines

The following guidelines represent a compilation of the views previously expressed by the ZoneOrchestrator Newsgroup Authorities.

    Crossposting is allowed, so long as one remembers the purposes of crossposting; ensuring that topics which are relevant to more than one forum reach their intended audience. Thus topics which are of interest to the Member Plus community as a whole, may be cross posted to zoc.mplus.helpers and zoc.mplus.gamers, but not to social. As mentioned by +Jon@Zone, rarely is it necessary to crosspost to all newsgroups at once. Use your discretion when crossposting. Unless absolutely necessary, avoid crossposting to the technical newsgroups.

Fundamental Guidelines

• Keep your ZoneOrchestrator username and password secure. Sharing your ZoneOrchestrator account information is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate removal from the ZoneOrchestrator Community. You are responsible for all use of your account. Membership is a privilege, not a right.

• Flaming and personal attacks in the newsgroups will not be tolerated.

• Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-explicit, hateful, threatening, contain profanity, disparaging references to sexual orientations, racial, ethnic or religious slurs.

• The newsgroups are not for mediating personal differences. If you have a problem with someone, sort it out via email or some other means.

• Respect decisions of ZoneOrchestrator Community administrators. Should a thread be locked by an administrator, do not take the same topic to a new thread. ZoneOrchestrator Community administrators have the final authority on interpretation of these rules and enforcement actions taken.

• Post topics in relevant newsgroups only. Newsgroup names and descriptions clearly indicate their purpose. Do not abuse cross-posting

• Keep Community issues within the Community. Except for alleged violations of state or federal laws or alleged infringement of individual or property rights under such laws, your recourse against other Community members shall be limited to the actions deemed appropriate by ZoneOrchestrator Community administrators.

• All users are strongly encouraged to follow commonly accepted netiquette guidelines.

As noted in the Terms of Use, failure to observe these guidelines may result in unspecified consequences.
