Resolving Common
Connection Errors - LDBH - Solutions
Be sure to read the instructions completely before changing any settings. If you have any questions, or are unsure, about the methods used, please post to the newsgroups before implementing any changes. If you feel it necessary to post to the support newsgroups, read this page so as to ensure yourself the best possible service.
You have recently changed your Member Plus ZoneID.
In the event you have changed your ZoneID, it is not necessary to create a new ZO account. ZoneOrchestrator shall automatically detect the new ZoneID. However, immediately following your change of ZoneID, you may have to wait up to fourteen days for ZoneOrchestrator servers to recognize the updated information.
In the event that it has been longer than fourteen days, your change may have been corrupted or delayed. We recommend you contact your ambassador requesting confirmation that your new ZoneID is correct.
Related information is available here.
You use, or have used, SpyBot, Pop-up blockers, Ad-Subtract, or ad suppression software.
ZoneOrchestrator is not designed to run with ad suppression software, and some programs, such as SpyBot, may prevent ZoneOrchestrator from loading. If this is the case, please try the following steps:
1) Disable all suppression programs (including pop-up blockers, ad blockers, or the like).
2) Attempt to reconnect.
If, after disabling all pop-up blockers, you continue to be unable to connect,
proceed to step 3.
3) Save your work, and close all windows.
4) Click on Start, then Search for Files and Folders.
5) Search your computer for all files (including system and hidden
files), named 'Hosts'.
The file you are searching for should be in your windows directory. It
does not have an extension, and will be spelled exactly as you searched it, "Hosts".
The illustration below shows a sample search, with the correct file highlighted, and boxed
in red.

Note: XP users will find the file in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc".
6) Confirm its filename (Hosts), and its location (Your windows director), then rename the file to 'Hosts.zo.bk'.
7) Load ZO and attempt to log in.
If you have any questions about the above instructions, please post to the newsgroups.
You use, or have used, anti-key logging programs such as PrivacyKeyboard, or similar products.
Certain products, such as Raytown's PrivacyKeyboard, that claim to protect users from key loggers (anti-keyloggers), can actually prevent ZoneOrchestrator from successfully logging on. In the event you use such a program and are encountering errors, we highly advise you terminate the anti-keylogger while you use ZoneOrchestrator. In some cases, failure to quit such programs while using ZoneOrchestrator can result in critical errors.
You are using a firewall, router, or similar networking devices.
The number of different networking devices, or firewall programs, makes it impossible to list all the possible problems you may encounter with your set up. Generally speaking however, connection problems are usually caused because networking hardware is preventing ZoneOrchestrator from successfully connecting with Zone servers.
Check to ensure that ZoneOrchestrator has the necessary permissions to connect to the Zone.
Ensure that privacy settings are not preventing ZoneFriends from loading. If feasible, you may want to consider temporarily disabling your firewall, or router, privacy settings in order to determine whether they are causing connection problems.

Zone.com Servers are currently offline.
ZoneOrchestrator may not be able to log on if Zone.com servers are offline. If this is the case, we encourage you to remain calm. While this is an external problem that cannot be helped by ZoneOrchestrator, you can be assured that teams are, more than likely, quickly working to restore service.
